Just Create!
You guys. I have clay on my hands… and my pants and my shoes!! Clay from the potter’s wheel!!! I just got back from my first pottery class at Lima’s Art Space downtown. Oh my goodness did I need that!! This winter has been so long and so cold, nothing could feel better than taking a day to create with friends. I feel giddy! In two weeks I will go back to finish the class and take home my little muggy-mug… lol It was definitely not like riding a bike. I was so awkward because it’s been years since I got to work on a potter’s wheel. But in the end I made something that I love and I am proud of and I can’t wait to create more! Just create in any way at all from photos to painting to pottery, as long as I am making something, I feel whole.
That leads me to this gorgeous quick session with Maddie. It was cold, but not deathly cold…. So we decided to brave the day and take a few fancy photos in the mid winter’s light. Nice and warm in the car, jump out, shoot some photos, back in the car to warm up! It’s great when no one else is around because you can do that trick a lot easier. I thought it was an awesome adventure and we had a fun time… and in true “Nicki nature”, I foraged some beautiful dried flowers for my home while we were exploring. :) Win-win!!!
