Even as much as I have been living under a rock, it's tough not to think about Texas and all the horror from hurricane Harvey that is happening right now. The news just makes me cry every day. I have been thinking about those people and what it must feel like to have lost everything. And that's when I realized that things aren't “everything”. People are everything. Memories are everything. Love is everything. If I were faced with having to grab just what fits in a bag, you know I am taking my photo albums and external hard drives where all my photographs are backed up. All our family memories are living in there and I could not bear to lose those dreams. This is our wake up call again my friends, back up your photos and get yourselves a cloud service back up. I do this everyday to ensure that my most treasured “things” are going to be here for my kids and their children and generations to come. To me nothing matters more than my tribe and my stories of them. So, some of you have homework to do today, and some of you can just be thankful that your memories are guarded and safe. If you are in the position to help those friends in Texas, then please do so.
To brighten your day, here's a first birthday milestone photo shoot from a long while ago. This cutie's theme was The Hungry Caterpillar. This was my take on it, I love how it turned out, so classic and fun! Gosh, he's a handsome little man! I love those little teeth and curious little face. First birthday photo sessions are such a special memory. I have a few more outstanding first birthday photo shoots from this summer to share with you here on my photography blog. I really should take a day off to get that done, you're going to love what's in store.
And lastly, thank you. I am always grateful when guys choose me to tell your stories. It's been hectic and crazy but I am so happy that I am able to make artworks from your minutes.
