Paradise. I have been thinking a lot about that word. I have learned that it's not just warmth and palm trees, it is a state of mind. Paradise can be your own backyard, if you make it so. I learned a lot from my stay on an island. Days upon days of living in “paradise” set me up for my return home. You know, people on islands don't have room for a lot of “stuff”. The most profound lesson I took home was that less is more. I had always tried to live by that rule, but I most certainly failed at one point or another and I came home to many heavy weights. The first thing I did when I had unpacked was to start a whole life clean-out. I am in the middle of it now but I can feel the hope in my soul. With spring just around the corner, I have a deadline so that I can start a new season feeling like a new person. Simplicity is a dream of mine. And I can't wait to get there.
I had brought my very first digital camera with me on the trip. (an oldie but goodie to me) I wasn't even sure if I felt like shooting at all, it was after all, our vacation. But just in case the moment hit me, I wanted to have something there to use. Aaaand the moment did not hit me! Haha! As a South Jersey family and child photographer, I shoot so much so often when I am home, I didn't take the camera out of our villa at all. And that's a-okay. I woke up some mornings and shot sunrise right from the balcony. And then I went out and HAD adventures without a camera. And it was cool.
Now that things are back in full swing here, some of you will have to deal with my whole life clean-out as we shoot in the Galloway NJ Photography studio. Lol! Sorry. Instead of Easter mini's this year, I am planning mommy and me sweet sessions in the PURE room. So be on the lookout for those. I am booking into May and June now. I am excited to get back to outdoor photography shoots! I know beach photography is going to be big this year again! Ahhhhh like I said, paradise can be your own backyard if you make it so. I am glad to be back.
