It was a freezing week just before the holidays when these amazing girls came to see me. When I tell you freezing, I mean it was 30 degrees here in Galloway New Jersey. But that beautiful sun was shining and these two beauties were so brave and so happy to model outside for a few shots. As a child photographer, I knew we needed to relocate to the studio before we all froze. And they still didn't cease to amaze me once we got indoors either. I cannot express how much I love what I do especially when you have little ladies like this to make your job look easy! But I did have a difficult time just choosing which photographs to share on the blog, there were so many awesome photos in this collection!
About the time these gals came to their photo shoot, I was shopping for Christmas presents (and hiding them) and cleaning up for the upcoming holidays when I realized that my life was too heavy with stuff. Stuff like trinkets and photography props and fabrics and old holiday decor and all sorts of things that I don't need to wake up happy each day. It was a revelation that, at the time with being so busy, I needed to put on the back burner. Now that the holidays are over (and it's time to hibernate until spring) I have been dreaming about a wholesale clean-out of my life. All my heavy weights and the things that bog life down and make me feel overwhelmed need to go. What does this have to do with the adorable girls in this photography story? I'll tell you. Take another look back at these photos. Aren't they just awesome? All the awesome you see in these photographs is two wonderful children. No props other than a box seat. And guess what? I LOVE IT. Child photography doesn't have to be fancy. I know that props can make certain photo shoots very special and I will continue to use props in our photo shoots but I am without a doubt having a major clean out this spring!
Look for in the upcoming months “Simply Kids” Galloway photography studio sessions. Short, sweet, simple photography just for kids.
