My family and I lost Grand-mom this past year. Her home is filled with thoughts and memories of wonderful times gone by. The other day I came across these egg cups. Time worn and cracking, yet still as magnificent as the days when my grandmother would butter strips of toast for us to dip into a soft boiled egg held up in one of these cups. I must say I think I chose the pink color every time. (I have since stopped eating nearly raw eggs... eeeek!)

I have been on a mission to simplify my own life so I am in a battle when it comes to taking items home from Gran's house and piling them here in MY house. I choose to live simply NOW. In order to win the battle of simplicity, I decided to leave the egg cups in her house for someone else to discard, but I captured this image of that memory to live on in my heart.

It's hard not to keep ANYTHING from Gran's house so a few really neat props have been salvaged from donation and you'll get to see the great ideas I have for the treasures from Gran's house very soon!

Meet Baby G and Big Sister V. I photographed V when she was the same age as her new baby sister. Their mommy wanted a great shot of the TWO sisters together, but... there was a fruit snack overdose and V was very very busy that day! LOL! You know, things don't always go as planned on a photo shoot just as they don't always go as planned in LIFE. And we still come out okay, just like these shots I have to share with you. We have plans in the works already for an outdoor session in the spring, wardrobe is being chosen and props gathered. Miss V is banned from fruit snacks and Baby G will be sitting up on her own by then. I can't wait!! :)

Well ladies, what do you think?? He wants to break into modeling and acting and I think he's "got it"! I call him J Rad and I think you'll be seeing more of him out there. Maybe on a billboard in Times Square? Yes, how cool!

This is the week that I always tell myself I will get soooo much done while I have a little break. Um... well, it's already Friday and I haven't come close to accomplishing my great expectations this week! Ohhh well, no biggie, I had a nice week anyhow! I found some new props for summer birthdays outdoors, I got a new barn wood floor in the studio that looks so cool, and I am planning a Valentine's Day mini session promotion! Not too shabby.... oh and I even went to the MALL. Eeeeek!!

I know I always say how much I love the family featured in the blog of the week, but I swear there is no pleasure as awesome as getting to know a great family and capturing wonderful moments for them like these. I enjoy storytelling and wish so much that I could tell you these kiddos names because they melted my heart!! I always feel like the names are so right, so perfect for the people I meet. It adds so much to their story for me behind the lens. I love this job and I am so excited to start a new year FULL of new great stories and new adventures even more FUN than last year. Happy New Year to all of you!!

Here's a cute little baby girl to brighten your day! This is her first holiday shoot, and I say, she did quite a marvelous job!! Those eyes are like big marbles.... And those cheeks! LOVE. She is coming back to see me in the spring and I just cannot wait!
